This picture of a Thai elephant was completely hand carved from one piece of teak wood in northern Thailand. As such, no two carvings will ever be exactly the same. Elephants are hugely symbolic in Thailand, not just for their great strength and ability to work hard, but also as a symbol of luck. The carving features what the Thais call an antique finish.
The carving measures 457mm x 305mm x 18mm approx (18" x 12" x 3/4"). We do our upmost to make sure that all teak used in these carvings is from the correctly licensed sources. We do not accept carvings from illegally felled trees or imported wood from Burma (Myanmar).
