This picture of a group of Thai elephants was completely hand carved from one piece of teak wood in northern Thailand. As such, no two carvings will ever be exactly the same. Elephants are hugely symbolic in Thailand, not just for their great strength and ability to work hard, but also as a symbol of luck. The carving features a wax finish, which brings out the natural beauty of the wood with a warm glow. The carving either comes with the elephants walking left or right. You can choose which of these you prefer.
The carving measures600mm x 355mm x 18mm approx (24" x 14" x 3/4"). We do our upmost to make sure that all teak used in these carvings is from the correctly licensed sources. We do not accept carvings from illegally felled trees or imported wood from Burma (Myanmar).
